Litestream, a Florida-based telecommunications provider focused on delivering Internet, cable television and voice services to private communities, has reached an agreement with Palencia, a 1,400-acre community located in St. Johns County along the west bank of the Intracoastal Waterway, to renew the property’s agreement for broadband services, including all-digital cable television services and high speed Internet. Palencia is a premier Hines community of more than 1,100 occupied homes and, when complete, will include approximately 3,300 residential units, 400,000 square feet of retail and office space, and a comprehensive package of amenities, including an Arthur Hills-designed championship golf course.

Litestream recently upgraded its broadband services in St. John’s County, delivering all-digital services in the community to include enhanced digital channels and an extensive high definition (HD) product lineup. The upgrade allows residents to choose from a variety of service package options that meet their personal interests, including extensive HD channels, video on demand, whole-home DVR capabilities and TV Everywhere, allowing viewers the opportunity to enjoy their favorite shows on any WiFi-enabled device; upgraded high-speed Internet service, giving them access to reliable, high quality, lightning-fast speeds for today’s ever-growing communication and entertainment needs; and sharp, crystal-clear digital phone service with unlimited local and long-distance calling in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The company has also announced plans to add an extensive array of home security, home monitoring and home automation services.

Former Palencia board member Gary Mayo was instrumental in the process of choosing Litestream as the community’s provider. “We spent about two years working through the process and talking to other vendors to ensure we were doing what was right for the community’s residents,” he said. “The residents were very happy and I’d never seen a transition go quite that smoothly.”

Ultimately, he said members chose Litestream because of their competitive price, the upgrades and a certain sense of loyalty – Litestream has been the community’s provider for about 12 years. “It’s also nice that they are very accommodating and very patient with residents,” he added.

Litestream CEO Bill Haggarty said, “Palencia is a premier community that we have had the privilege of serving for many years. We’ve heard from so many residents how much they have enjoyed our upgraded cable service and excellent customer care we provide to them. The renewal of this service agreement demonstrates Litestream’s long-term commitment to our communities, the partnership we form with them and the satisfaction we deliver to community residents. Litestream’s core value is to deliver exceptional customer care for the long term and to form close partnerships with the community boards and associations we serve. We look forward to an ongoing, close relationship and continuing the Litestream tradition of delivering the exceptional customer care, products and services for which we have become known.”

Palencia residents have easy access to Florida beaches, outdoor activities at Deep Creek State Park and health care at the Mayo Clinic, in addition to the shopping, dining and entertainment of downtown historic St. Augustine. The community is anchored by The Palencia Club, which features a 33,000-square-foot clubhouse and Arthur Hills-designed championship golf course. Lennar homeowners will have full use of Palencia’s world-class amenities that include 10 tennis courts, four swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, spa services, soccer and baseball fields and a regulation-sized basketball court. Families with children will enjoy the Pirate Playground, Family Picnic Pavilion and eight miles of nature trails.

Litestream’s state-of-the-art, fiber-optic network delivers high-performance services with ample capacity to handle expanded demands of today and the future. The company specializes in the construction of new broadband communications systems in established communities, replacing the outdated infrastructures currently in the ground, resulting in higher quality signals and more capacity, allowing residents to enjoy an exceptional entertainment experience.

Satisfying residents and board leadership is the company’s central focus. Its White Glove construction process was developed over many successful infrastructure conversions in private and gated communities across the state. At its core are candid, clear communications with residents, board members and property managers by mail, email, newsletters, community TV and signage to ensure the conversion process is seamless.
